Ishita Kishore is a native of Bihar but living in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Ishita Kishore was born in the year 1996 in Hyderabad, Telangana and she was 27 years old. Her father Late Sanjay Kishore was the Indian Air Force wing commander who died in the year 2004. Ishita Kishore’s mother is a private school teacher and her elder brother Ishan Harsh is a lawyer. Ishita Kishore is also a national-level football player and participated in the Subroto Cup football tournament in the year 2012 as captain of the team.

Ishita Kishore did her schooling at Air Force Bal Bharti School, Delhi. She did her graduation from the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) affiliated with Delhi University. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Economics with Honours in the year 2017. In the year 2015, she did an internship at the Housing and Urban Development Corporation, and in the year 2016 did an internship at Maharatna Company GAIL Limited. After graduation, she worked as a risk analyst for Ernst and Young an international company for 2 years.

During her time at school and college, Ishita Kishore also took part in various extracurricular activities and also participated in the Economic Society and Literary Society. She presided over Interact, a group sponsored by Rotary, and she participated in UN meetings at school events. She also did an internship for the NGO CRY.

Ishita Kishore cleared the UPSC CSE exam on her 3^rd attempt, even in the first two attempts she was not able to qualify for the prelims exam. During a conversation with various media outlets, Ishita Kishore said that she did not join any coaching institute for the preparation of the UPSC exam, but was successful in this exam preparation through online medium and self-study. Ishita Kishore also said that she studies for 8 to 9 hours per day. Her first preference for the UPSC exam is the Indian Administrative Service with her home cadre Uttar Pradesh.
