IPS Divya Tanwar Biography
Divya Tanwar was born in the year 1997 in Mahendragarh, Haryana in a normal farmer family. In the year 2011, Divya Tanwar’s father passed away due to a prolonged illness. After the death of his father, the responsibility of the family was taken over by his mother. Divya’s mother did sweeping and mopping along with doing other farm work to support the family. Apart from Divya, she has a younger brother and a younger sister in her family.

After getting her graduation degree, Divya Tanwar started preparing for the UPSC CSE exam. Initially, Divya Tanwar did not enroll in any coaching institute for UPSC preparation. Divya started preparing for the UPSC CSE preliminary exam from home with the help of online study material, NCERT, and standard books recommended by toppers in various interviews.
In the initial days of her preparation, Divya studied for 4-5 hours daily, which later increased to 10 hours. After passing the preliminary examination on the first attempt, Divya joined the Drishti IAS mentorship program, a prestigious Hindi medium coaching institute, and went to Delhi to practice answer writing for the main examination. Divya Tanwar had selected Hindi literature as an optional subject in the main examination and Hindi as the medium of examination.

With consistency in her studies, hard work, and proper guidance, Divya Tanwar cracked the UPSC CSE 2021 exam on her first attempt and got selected for the post of Indian Police Service (IPS) with 438th rank. Her mother has contributed the most in this success of Divya and that is why Divya gave full credit to her mother. Divya got Manipur cadre as IPS.
